Recevie "The Project Application Service doesn't exist or is stopped." when access Shared Services that has Project Server 2007 installed.

Symptom

Receive the following erro when administering MOSS Shared Services:

"The Project Application Service doesn't exist or is stopped. Start the Project Application Service."

Resolution

Ensure all Sharepoint server has the Project Server 2007 binaries installed.

and ensure Project Server is running on at least on server (stsadm command is "stsadm -o provisionservice -action start -servicetype "Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.Administration.ProjectApplicationService, Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.Administration, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71E9BCE111E9429C" -servicename ProjectApplicationService"")
